Overview

With the Amicus Cloud - QuickBooks Link your firm can use Amicus for billing and QuickBooks for accounting. The Link integrates the firm's Amicus clients with QuickBooks customers and the Amicus files with QuickBooks jobs. It also exchanges Amicus payment and trust transactions to QuickBooks as General Journal entries.

QuickBooks Desktop – Current US editions and versions of QuickBooks Financial Software desktop products are supported: QuickBooks Enterprise, Pro, and Premier (Windows) versions 2010 to 2016.

QuickBooks Web Connector – Amicus Cloud integrates with QuickBooks Desktop via the QuickBooks Web Connector, which runs under Microsoft Windows. The QuickBooks Web Connector must be installed and run on the computer where your QuickBooks software and database (company file) is installed.

Initialization – The Amicus QuickBooks Link Wizard guides the Amicus administrator through the installation, configuration, and first exchange.

Subsequent data exchanges – Are performed periodically by a user running the Amicus exchange service from the QuickBooks Web Connector program at the computer.

Data exchange during initialization

You might start with clients/customers and files/jobs in Amicus only, in QuickBooks only, or in both programs. During initialization (configuration and the first exchange), the following records are exchanged.

Time entry posting instead?

If your firm wants to do both its billing and accounting in QuickBooks, disable Amicus Billing and optionally use the provided QuickBooks standard template (or a custom template) that enables users to post time entries to computer files for subsequent import into QuickBooks as time activities. For more information, see Enable time entry/expense posting for the firm.
