For convenience, your new incoming and outgoing email can be automatically associated with a file. You may set this up from a file or email, whichever you prefer. This topic describes setup from an email.
An email address may be set for association with only one file, and any particular email may be associated with only one file. If you send an email to multiple addresses that are set for association with multiple files, the setting for only the first of those addresses in the email To list will be applied.
Your auto-association settings affect only your email. Other users may have different settings.
1. Open an email from or to the address for which you wish to set ongoing automatic assignment, and click the file selection icon.
2. File:
In the Select File window, select a file in the list if the email is not
already associated with a file.
3. Option:
Select the "In future save all messages to and from this email address
to the same file" option.
4. Addresses:
In the list of email addresses on this email, select the ones for which
you want email association to the file to occur automatically from now
on. Existing file associations in previous email from or to the selected
addresses will not be affected. You are only changing the rules for any
email sent or received in the future.
The person or their email address doesn't need to be defined in a contact
record.
Warning: Don't select your own email address, as that would cause all your mail to be associated with the file. |
